The fine print
Privacy Policy
Last updated September 29, 2026
We keep this simple: we collect what we need to run your account and show your card, reply to you, and send the newsletter you ask for — nothing more. No advertising trackers, and we never sell your information. Here’s the full picture.
What we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us:
- Your account. Your name, email address, username and password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Your card. What you put on it — name, occupation, company, intro, photos and links. A published card is public by design: anyone with its link or QR code can see it.
- Messages. When you contact us, we collect your name, email address, and your message.
- Newsletter. If you sign up for updates, we collect your email address.
How we use it
We use your account details to sign you in and to email you about your account, and your card details to show your card. We use your name and email to reply to your message, and newsletter emails only to send the updates you signed up for. We don’t use your information for anything else.
The newsletter is double opt-in
When you sign up, we send a confirmation email — you’re only added after you click to confirm. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, and you can leave at any time. You can also contact us and we’ll remove you.
What we never do
- We never sell, rent, or trade your information.
- We don’t run third-party advertising or behavioral tracking.
- We don’t build a profile of you across other websites.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to protect forms against cross-site request forgery. They’re required for the site to work and aren’t used to track you. We don’t use advertising cookies. We don’t use analytics cookies.
Keeping spam out
Our forms use a hidden honeypot field and rate limiting to block automated spam. These check how a form is submitted, not who you are.
Who helps us run things
A few trusted services handle the plumbing on our behalf: Resend delivers our email, Stripe takes payments (we never see or store your card number), and Amazon Web Services hosts the site. They only process what they need to provide those services, and they don’t get your information for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
Your account and cards are kept until you delete your account; deleting it removes them. Your username alone is kept after that, so it can never be handed to someone else and a printed QR code can’t point at a stranger. If you have paid for a plan, closing your account cancels it and removes your name and email, but the payment record itself is kept for seven years, because tax and accounting law requires it. We keep messages while we’re helping you and for a reasonable time afterward in case you reach back out. Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe. Ask us to delete your information any time and we will, unless we’re required to keep it.
Your choices
You can edit or unpublish your card and delete your account from your settings at any time. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter with one click, and you can contact us to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you. We’ll always do our best to help.
Children
This site is meant for adults and isn’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect, we’ll update this page and change the date at the top.
